Brooke Mancusi is a FEI U25 Grand Prix rider currently based on the South Shore of Montreal, Quebec. Brooke began riding at the age of nine in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada at a local summer day camp and has never looked back. Her first recognized Equestrian Canada sanctioned dressage show was at Bird’s Hill Park in Manitoba at the age of ten. Since then, Brooke has continued to develop her love of the sport by winning numerous Dressage Winnipeg Championships and awards including the Captain DeKenyres Junior High Point Award, gold medals in equitation, USDF Silver medal and the Equestrian Canada Silver and Platinum medals. In 2018, Brooke received the Sport Manitoba Woman to Watch grant. In 2018, she was named to Team Canada (Ontario and Manitoba Team) Junior Division for the North American Youth Championships (NAYC). Brooke and her horse, Wellknown led the team to a bronze medal and was the highest placed Canadian that day. Also, in 2018 Brooke received the Manitoba Horse Council Junior Athlete of the Year and was a finalist for the Sport Manitoba Junior Athlete of the Year.
In 2021, after a successful season in Wellington and Ocala, Florida, Brooke, and her horse Grand Amour were named to Team Canada for the Young Riders Division at the North American Youth Championships (NAYC). Unfortunately, on the eve of the event, Grand Amour died suddenly of laminitis. That year, Brooke and Grand Amour were named to Equestrian Canada’s Talent ID Squad, as well as named as the Manitoba Horse Council Athlete of the Year.
In 2022, Brooke and her horses, Kalisto Sollenburg and Wellknown again had a successful show season in Wellington, Florida. Kalisto Sollenburg showed at FEI Young Riders level both National and CDI in Wellington, Florida. Brooke also showed Wellknown at the CDIs as well as National in Wellington as well as the CDI in Ottawa in May 2022. She also showed both Kalisto and Wellknown in Bromont, Quebec at the CDI in September 2022.
2023 was another exciting year with two horses showing at the FEI levels. Kalisto Sollenburg was declared for Small Tour for the Pan American Games. Brooke’s other horse was Arthur, who was owned by Windhaven. This was a new partnership for 2023. Brooke and Arthur showed at the U25 Grand Prix level. Brooke and Arthur competed for Team Canada in the U25 division at the Nations Cup in Wellington, Florida in February 2023 (CDIO-U25). They placed third individually and won a Team Bronze medal. Brooke and Arthur were named to Team Canada U25 for NAYC in 2023. Together they won the Intermediate II class as well as a Team Gold medal. Brooke and Arthur had the highest technical score for all Canadians during that show.
Brooke was a Finalist in the Les Soirees des Aramis in the Senior Athlete of the Year on the North American Scene Category.
These achievements led to Brooke being named as a Canadian National Team member in the Development Squad for both 2023 and 2024.
In addition to Kalisto Sollenburg, Brooke acquired DeJohn Ymas (Johnny) as her new U25 Grand Prix horse in February 2024. Johnny is by Glock’s Johnston x Sandro Hit. 2024 continued to be a good season with both horses showing at the CDI in Ottawa, Canada. Brooke and Johnny placed first in both U25 classes (Intermediate II and the U25 Grand Prix). Brooke and Johnny were the named to Team Canada for the North American Youth Championships as the only Canadian in that division. They received the bronze medal in the Inter II and fourth place in both the U25 Grand Prix and Grand Prix freestyle. The Canadian season ended at the CDI in Bromont, Quebec. Brooke and Kalisto showed in the Small Tour and secured second place in the Prix St Georges and first place in the Intermediate I. Brooke and Johnny received first place in both the U25 classes, Intermediate II and U25 Grand Prix. In addition Brooke and Johnny won the Best Turned Out for the jog at the North American Youth Championships in 2024.
Brooke has been named to the Excellence Development Support Program as an Elite Level Athlete with Cheval Quebec for 2024. Brooke is a Finalist in the Les Soirees des Aramis in the Senior Athlete of the Year on the North American Scene Category for 2024.
In November 2024, Brooke was awarded the prestigious Orion Cup National Championship award from Equestrian Canada. This award is presented to a promising dressage athlete in the process of transitioning from the Young Rider level to Grand Prix. The award is given to the rider with the highest average scores from the U25 Grand Prix level. So far in 2025 Brooke has been named to represent Canada in the CDIU25 in Wellington, Florida. Currently Brooke is highest ranked Canadian in the FEI U25 World Rankings.
Brooke is currently the second highest ranked Canadian in the FEI CDI 1*.
Brooke is the assistant trainer to Canadian Olympic rider Brittany Fraser-Beaulieu.
